So I’m on the plane waiting to take off to Phoenix for a weekend of holiday joy with the Kent twins. One of the things I love about traveling is the people watching. I especially love to try and figure out why people chose to wear what they did for this day of travel. Usually the obvious reason is comfort. Sometimes I see things that really make me ponder, such as this mans shirt. It reads “Old Guys Rule”.

Tis the season!
One of my favorite parts of the holiday season isn’t just the socializing, the eating, or the gifts, it’s the massive catalogs and magazines I get in the mail this time of year. For some reason there is nothing I enjoy more than sitting on my couch and flipping through every single page of all of the catalogs and gift giving sections in the magazines. I even flip through catalogs I have no interest in, LL Bean, Chicos, Coldwater Creek, in other words, all of the catalogs my mom gets. The gift giving sections of the magazines are just as great because they work really hard to come up with the items you would never think about or know about. Let the shopping and gift giving begin!

Park City Fun
Today I took a little jaunt up to Park City with my mom. It was a mix of business and pleasure. Hit the outlets of course, who doesn’t love a good bargain, and then I went and explored two new Park City boutiques. Flight on Main St. and Cake Boutique in the Redstone complex are two wonderful additions to the PC scene. I went in search of bags. I am working on an article for the best bags in SLC and while I did find a couple in the SLC valley, I wanted to explore PC. Flight was a total success in terms of bags. The store is housed where the old Chloe Lane men’s store was and it was redone really nicely. The merchandise looked really nice, but to be honest I didn’t pay much attention to anything but the bags. They had a really great selection of incredibly well priced bags. Stay tuned for my article to read all about them. After that success I drove down to Cake. What a beautiful store. I was really impressed. They didn’t have any bags but what they did have was an incredible selection of clothes. Cake is the only retailer in UT to carry Rag and Bone and they had some great pieces. They also had some cashmere pieces from a brand called Velvet and this cashmere melted in your hands it was so soft and luxurious. I really look forward to going back to both stores and exploring further. If you make your way up to PC make sure you check out both stores, you won’t be disappointed.

Obsession!
I was browsing through Urban Outfitters today and I came across these pants that I just love. Unfortunately for me( and maybe fortunately) they are a Levi’s skinny jean and I am also 6’6″ and not skinny. So the combination of plaid, skinny jeans, and myself do not equal a happy outcome….sigh.
